What is Joy as Armor?
Joy as Armor comes out of my own practice of modifying my clothing to make it more joyful. I have printed pants with dozens of octopi. I have filled a blue tie-dye jumpsuit with crows. I often dress with vibrant colors to uplift my feelings, and I have a pair of colorful boots that I call my “mood-elevators.” I realized that, in the difficult times we are facing, I see joy as a kind of armor and see the wearable art I make as joyful armor. Check out my shop for upcycled items of wearable art. Or, consider sending me an item of clothing to turn into joy as armor—I take commissions. Email me at jen@moreartlessfear.com to learn more.
